 to the distribution company. The Xpander Pak product manufactured by IFP benefits the following
areas of pharmaceutical fulfillment, more than conventional styrene and “gimmick” packages.


 

A.) Xpander Pak Products

1.) The Xpander Pak Insulated Shipper is available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to meet the temperature requirements of the product. The Xpander Pak Shipper can be tailored to the specific needs of Caremark.

2.) The Xpander Pak Shipper is 300% to 400% faster to package than conventional insulated packages. Packaging areas that use Xpander Pak process 3 to 4 times the number of packages per day compared to other packaging processes

3.) The Xpander Pak Shipper provides a custom package each time it is used; the sidewalls conform to the shape of the contents driving out excess void area. This is one of the most important benefits of Xpander Pak Products; less void area (air) results in less heat sink (gel) needed to provide a safe temperature throughout the transportation cycle.

4.) The Xpander Pak Shipper is delivered to the pharmacy with the side walls compressed to ¼ the finished thickness. Xpander Pak Shippers require far less warehouse space than conventional products. This is especially important in pharmaceutical distribution with expensive warehouse space and limited storage.

5.) On a thickness for thickness basis, the Xpander Pak Shipper provides more thermal protection than other conventional insulation products including, styrene, air cellular polyethylene and polypropylene materials. Xpander Pak Shippers are cost effective by themselves, are truly the lowest cost product when the product cost savings is combined with lower labor and warehousing costs.

B.) Additional Options with the Xpander Pak Product Line

1.) An Xpander Pak Shipper with interior pocket to hold frozen gel. The frozen gel remains contained in the pocket and does not move throughout the package

2.) An Xpander Pak Shipper with interior foam divider to maintain a gap between the frozen gel and other contents. The divider also minimizes condensation in the package which is a real problem with other insulated shipping packages.

3.) A super insulated urethane cooler that is significantly more efficient than styrene containers. The cooler can be constructed in any size unlike molded styrene and requires significantly less gel than conventional insulated shipping containers.

4.) IFP has developed economical 48 and 72 hour insulated shipping packages. Transportation costs are dramatically reduced when transportation time can be extended without affecting the product.
